Cambodia 2017: Intro

Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

In May 2017, myself along with 5 other students from Singapore have made a decision to serve in Cambodia (Phnom Penh followed by Siem Reap) on a mission trip. This is an annual programme known as MORPH which is run by the global FES (Fellowship of evangelical students) ministry.

So you may be wondering, why a mission trip? For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about making a positive impact on those around me and being a catalyst for change. Since coming to know Christ, this passion has expressed itself in the form of a desire to engage in missionary work.

This trip is going to definitely push me out of my comfort zone! I believe that my faith and character will mature and I also expect to return with a deeper desire to share the gospel with all people regardless of sex, race, religion or class.

This is the first of a series of posts i’ll be writing leading up to this trip, so keep a look out for the rest! There will be smiles, frowns, laughter and tears but I know that through it all, God will be glorified.

Please do keep my team and I in your prayers. The team needs prayer for unity, provision and for focus on God’s mission.

Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who proclaims peace,
Who brings glad tidings of good things,
Who proclaims salvation..
