Cambodia 17: A memorable journal entry
This is one of the very memorable journal entries I wrote whilst I was on the mission trip. Reading it now takes me back to the very moment and touches me just the same.
“Day 3/27; 27 May 2017
Today my team and I spent our morning praying and fellowshipping with a small community of Christian students. It was wonderful coming together with such a diverse group of believers whilst all being united in our love for Christ. Cambodia 2017: Submission & Servanthood
Ephesians 5:21 (NKJV) “submitting to one another in the fear of God.”
Mark 10:43b-44 (NKJV) “..but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all.“
Submission and servanthood are two concepts that are centered around a heart of humility and meekness. I was very familiar with these terms in theory, but never had God yet placed me in a setting where i’d have to demonstrate these qualities continuously. Read More

We were tasked by the programme leaders to prepare the 15 minute segment before the main sermon of an evangelical outreach service. Cambodia 2017: Cultural barriers & evangelism
“Don’t allow cultural/ethnical differences to be a hinderance to your evangelism. “
I don’t think before coming to Singapore I was completely prepared and ready for the change in culture. I thought to myself “It’s fine! i’ve been to Singapore before, I’ve also been to China”. But visiting a country on holiday is very different from living in a country. I was going to have to settle down here, make friends and make my home here for the next year.
