The Power of Persistent Prayer

Hey sis, do you believe in the power of prayer?

How’s your prayer life?

How often do you strategically petition God for things you earnestly desire? Do you contend and wrestle with God in prayer, or do you get swept up in doubt, grow weary and eventually fail to keep making your requests known?

I’ve been in the place of doubting the Lord and lacking faith many times to my shame. I sometimes get discouraged when I feel as though God isn’t hearing me, answering me quick enough or answering in the way I think is best. Recently I’ve been greatly encouraged by the Parable of the Persistent Widow. Studying this passage of scripture has in many ways transformed how I approach praying to the Father in heaven.

Life Lessons: Hold Onto Things With an Open Hand | Part 2

Welcome to Part 2 of The Life Lessons Series!

In this series, we are exploring the different lessons that I’ve learned about who God is and who he wants me to be through supposedly mundane situations I experience in my day to day life. Enter the Kingdom as a Child

And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18:2-3)

God recently reminded me of such a glorious yet humbling truth – he delights in those that come to Him like a child.

Now, I remember how I behaved when I was a young child. I completely trusted my parents. I believed everything they told me and knew that they wanted the best for me. I wasn’t constantly looking for ways to pay them back for all they were doing for me, but instead I received their gifts and service as a sign of their love for me.

This is exactly what the Lord wants from me. This is exactly what the Lord wants from us. Read More

Love without hypocrisy

Let love be without hypocrisy.. (Romans 12:9a NKJV)

This can also be said in another way; let (your) love be sincere, genuine and real. The word that bounces of the page for me here is hypocrisy and this is what we’re going to explore further in this post.

How can we describe a hypocrite?

  • a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.

  • a person who feigns (fakes) some desirable or publicly approved attitude, especially one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.

Overcoming Mind battles | Biblical Tips

How do we overcome the battles of the mind?

Mind battles are a struggle that is common to man, however I don’t think that as Children of the Most High, we are to be slaves to anything except righteousness. Be encouraged that whatever mind battle you are facing right now, you have the victory because Christ has set you free Read More
